Gdansk and Sopot tour PRINT

Itinerary:    During this tour we see all the must see of Gdansk and its vincinity including Sopot, a beautiful spa resort, often called the “summer capital of Poland”. In its Golden Epoch – 16th century Gdansk was the richest city in the Polish Kingdom. Being an important port and trade centre Gdansk became a real melting pot of ethnic groups, cultures and religions. Walking around the Gdansk Old Town we see the Artus’ Court, magnificent Gothic St. Mary’s Church and the famous Neptun’s Fountain, a symbol of Gdansk. We also drop into the little streets hiding numerous cafés and galleries with the Baltic amber.  We see The Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers of 1970  and learn a bit about the Fall of communism in Eastern Europe.  In the Gothic Oliwa Cathedral we enjoy a short organ recital – the organs built in the 18th century (an amazing example of rococo art) were the largest ones in Europe in that time! Today they attract thousands of music amateurs with their beautiful sound. Afterwards we relax in Sopot, a popular spa resort.
