Currency

The Polish Zloty (PLN), which is divided into 100 gr (1 PLN = 100 gr). In some chain stores in malls, you can pay in euros or U.S. dollars, but in restaurants, small shops and tourist centers accept only local currency. Money can be changed in exchange offices (in Polish Currency), available in urban centers, hotels and tourist resorts. Most of them do not charge commission, but you should always take note of the rate being offered. In almost all tourist places you can pay by credit card. The ATM network is well developed. When shopping online (eg airline tickets) or car rental a credit card is required.

 

Electrical current

The current flows at a voltage of 230 V. Bear in mind that a simple plug converter will allow you to use most of your electrical devices anywhere in Poland.

 

Weights and measures

In Poland, the metric system. The basic unit of measurement is a unit of the International System of Units (SI), and thus include: 1 meter (1m = 100 cm), 1 kilogram (1 kg = 100 g), 1 second. Temperatures are measured in degrees Celsius (degrees C). Speed is measured in kilometers per hour (km / h).

 

Time

Winter in Poland has CET Central European Time (UCT +1), ie from the last Sunday in October to the last Sunday in March. On the last Sunday of March we set our clocks to daylight saving time, about 1 hour forward in relation to the time CET (UCT +2).
