We visit the Church of Peace in Swidnica (17th century), the largest timber-framed religious building in Europe. It bears exceptional witness to the political situation of Europe in the 17th century, religious wars and spiritual commitment. Then we see an impressive castle in Ksiaz, the third largest one in Poland. Built in the 13th century it was then rebuilt in different styles and hides 400 rooms and lodgings. Famous people visited this castle, among them Winston Churchill. Before WW II when Mary Theresa Olivia Cornwallis-West (known as Daisy or Sisi) was living here with her family (Hochberg) , it was one of the most impressive residences in Europe with 300 people serving it. We visit the castle and stroll around the beautiful gardens. Afterwards we go to Szczawno Zdroj, a historical spa resort with a beautiful spa architecture from the 19th century.
